Lotus Evora Sport 410

Lotus are following their tradition of making lighter and faster cars. The case is the same with their latest model – Lotus Evora Sport 410. At the end we have a little bit faster and a little bit lighter vehicle than the predecessor of Evora Sport 410 – Evora Sport 400.

According to Lotus, Sport 410 is 70 kg lighter than Sport 400, which means 1325 kg for the newborn car. This is achieved by utilizing composite materials in the exterior and interior. Roof panel, front splitter and tailgate are made of carbon fibers, as well as the sports seats and front access panel inside the car. Reducing the weight also explains why the car is lacking armrests and air conditioning.
While Lotus Evora Sport 400 had close numbers of horsepower and torque – 400 and 410 Nm, respectively, in Evora 410 those numbers are fully equated (410 hp and 410 Nm). The power source is still the same – 3.5L V6 engine which already broke a record on Nürburgring.
The top speed remains unchanged for both Sport 400 and 410 – 299 km/h. However, Sport 410 is 0.2 seconds faster than Evora 400 and needs 3.9 seconds to reach 96.5 km/h (60 mph).
Lotus also worked on improving handling. The company engineers re-adjusted suspension and improved damping for that purpose. Also the center of gravity was lowered by 5 mm.
The transmission remains the same – 6-speed manual. The new thing regarding the gearbox is the DPM system (Dynamic Performance Management). This system provides three modes to the driver – Drive, Sport and Race, which affect the throttle response, traction and understeer.
Lotus Evora Sport 410 costs $120 400, or 86 900 British pounds. This model seems to be made for people who are focused on the pure joy of driving, and the lack of comfort isn’t a problem for them.
